Event Marketing Design

Project Objective: Create branded promotional material using digital and print mediums to advertise the event.

Contributions: Illustration, typography, graphic design.

Havana Nights, was a roof top summer event held in Saratoga, New York. It featured food, music, drinks and cigars inspired by the iconic Cuban city of Havana. As the graphic designer I created both print and digital marketing material to assist in promoting the event.

I started my design process with illustration creating the roof top scene. This illustration utilized soft smokey water color features to capture the mood of the evening. The signature roof top gazebo of the event space leads to the view of guests enjoying an evening of dancing, fine cigars and drinks. Additionally key features of the Saratoga skyline are subtly set in the distance. After establishing the illustration I explored typography treatments that evoked classic Havana inspiration while still feeling modern.

These design elements were utilized for both digital advertisements on social media and developed into postcards featured in local Saratoga businesses. These designs helped set the tone for a successful sold out event.
